As part of the Writing on It All project, Poet Mark Nowak facilitates a collaborative creative writing workshop, "Housing Authorities" with participants from Justice for Domestic Workers (UK) and several New York City-based domestic worker organizations at Governor's Island in New York City on June 15, 2014. Also featured at the happening is filmmaker Jennifer Pritheeva Samuelís Claiming Our Voice, a short documentary film sharing the stories of Andolan, an organization founded and led by South Asian immigrant low-wage workers.

Writing On It is a series of interactive events designed to engage Governorís Island, a unique and historic city location. Over four weekends in June, invited artists and writers facilitate sessions in which interested members of the public are encouraged to write all over the interior of an out-of-use house on Governors Island. Under the direction of Alexandra Chasin, New School faculty member, the project takes place in a house that served as senior officer housing when Governors Island was a military base. In a materialist twist on contemporary conceptual practice, Writing On It All enacts the physical as well as social nature of writing.
